To K-pop fans,
Can you stop trashing Korea just to prove you’re “not a Koreaboo”? It doesn’t make you look smarter—it just makes you look twice as stupid.
Seriously, what the hell do you actually know about Korea?
Most of the stuff you see on TikTok about Korea is complete nonsense.
“Korea won’t operate on foreigners because their hearts are shaped differently!”
(Are you in elementary school?)
“The government canceled Hong Myung-bo’s flight so he couldn’t return to Korea.”
“They fired the coach because Korea lost to an African team and couldn’t handle losing to Black people.”
None of that is true.
The controversy had already started long before because of how the coach was selected.
“Koreans spend an entire month’s salary on one mango.”
Yeah, right. Give me a break.
Stop believing every ridiculous story you see on TikTok.
And why do so many of you treat Pannchoa like it’s a reliable source?
Most of you don’t even understand Korean. The translations are often inaccurate, and Pannchoa deliberately cherry-picks the most inflammatory, rage-bait posts that don’t reflect mainstream Korean opinion at all.
You know that, yet you keep spreading them anyway. At that point, it honestly just looks like you’re looking for excuses to bash Koreans.
Imagine if someone collected the dumbest tweets from international K-pop fans and claimed, “This is what all international fans think.”
You’d call that ridiculous.
Yet you constantly scream, “Knetz this,” “Knetz that,” based on the stupidest posts you can find.
“Koreans are misogynistic.”
“Koreans are racist.”
“Koreans are like this.”
“Koreans are like that.”
Give it a rest.
Let’s be honest.
Korea isn’t some country being held together by fathers selling content on OnlyFans.
Losing K-pop wouldn’t suddenly destroy our economy. What actually keeps this country running is the semiconductor industry.
And let’s be real—most of you pirate Korean dramas, don’t buy albums, and don’t even purchase official merchandise.
So why are you always the loudest people complaining about Korea?
Nothing is more annoying than international fans acting like,
“Koreans are so uneducated. Let me educate you.”
Meanwhile, the moment your favorite male idol gets caught dating, you flood the woman’s Instagram with hate.
You make creepy edits of female idols, spread plastic surgery rumors, constantly compare them to other members, and invent fake controversies.
So why are you acting like you’re morally superior?
Every time a Korean celebrity gets involved in a scandal, you immediately start saying,
“Korea is finished.”
It’s ridiculous.
Every country has controversial celebrities who continue working in the entertainment industry.
Many Koreans actually do try to boycott those celebrities.
But then international fans—especially in parts of Southeast Asia—keep supporting them and insist they deserve another chance.
So why are you blaming Koreans for not “canceling” them when you’re the ones keeping their careers alive?
Then, the second your own favorite idol gets caught in a scandal, you suddenly switch to,
“Korea’s cancel culture is so toxic.”
The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
It’s honestly unbelievable to watch people from countries like India or Türkiye lecture Koreans about women’s rights.
Then people go,
“Korea has a huge racism problem.”
But half the arguments sound like this:
“They didn’t put Carmen in shorts, so that’s racism.”
Seriously?
And another thing.
People keep talking about “KBS scores” without even knowing what KBS actually is.
KBS is literally one of Korea’s national television broadcasters.
I’ve seen Thai and Filipino fans say things like,
“Wonyoung has a mole, so she’s only KBS 98%.”
Then they turn around and say,
“Korean beauty standards are so weird.”
It’s honestly funny because, in Korea, moles like that are often considered beauty marks.
You don’t know the language. You don’t understand the culture. Yet you watch one TikTok video and suddenly act like an expert on Korea.
Most Korean content is made by Koreans and consumed primarily by Koreans.
If you don’t like it, stop picking fights and go support something else.
And honestly?
The way some of you obsessively collect every crime, scandal, or tragedy that happens in Korea is disgusting.
You don’t care about the victims.
You just want another excuse to attack Koreans.
I even saw someone commenting under news about a child __ual assault victim, saying,
“My protective instincts are going crazy.”
Their username was literally something related to “Lolita.”
That made me sick.
Horrible things happen all over the world.
Yet someone from Thailand will repost a Korean school bullying case and say,
“This proves Korea is a dystopia.”
“This is why we’re staying in Korea illegally.”
What kind of logic is that?
Isn’t your own country dealing with lower economic growth and a lower birth rate than Korea?
Do you even know that, according to international comparisons, Korea’s school bullying rate is actually lower than Thailand’s?
I’ve even seen people blame Korea because a Thai woman got plastic surgery to please her white husband.
At that point, you’ll blame Korea for literally anything.
And finally—
Whether you like Chinese dramas or not, why do you keep dragging Korea into the conversation?
Can you seriously not talk about Chinese dramas without mentioning Korea?
As an Asian, I have no problem with Asian entertainment becoming successful.
But what exactly do Chinese dramas have to do with Korea?
I rarely see people simply enjoying Chinese dramas for what they are.
What I do see is people using Chinese dramas as an excuse to take shots at Korea.
Honestly, what does Korea have to do with any of it?
Most Koreans don’t even care.
So if you want to enjoy Chinese dramas, then enjoy them.
Just stop acting like every discussion about Chinese entertainment needs to turn into an attack on Korea.
